CCNA – STP 2

Note: If you are not sure about Spanning Tree Protocol, please read our Spanning Tree Protocol STP Tutorial (Premium Tutorial).

Question 1

Question 2

Question 3

Explanation

First, the question asks what switch services the printers, so it can be Switch 3 or Switch 4 which is connected directly to the Printers.

Next, by comparing the MAC address of Switch 3 and Switch 4 we found that the MAC of Switch 3 is smaller. Therefore the interface connected to the Printers of Switch 3 will become designated interface and the interface of Switch 4 will be blocked. The picture below shows the roles of all ports:

all_port_roles.jpg

DP: Designated Port
RP: Root Port
BP: Blocked Port

(Please notice that Switch 1 will become the root bridge because of its lowest priority, not Switch 3)

Q3 last week. Even reading the question now, at home, without any pressure from the exam the question hardly makes any sense. Or do you REALLY think people will have the time during the exam to make an oversight like there is on this page?

Passed yesterday with score 1000 Thank God

The exam was 51 questions, only one drag and drop about cable types, all questions are very easy just similar to 9tut.

The lab simulations were Eigrp , ACL1 (similar to 9tut exactly) and ACL2 (modification 3 but with host B to access the finance server)

Good luck for everyone, just be relaxed its very very easy :)

    question 1 was in it

None of these on exam today. (labs: ACL and EIGRP – 2 friends before me stated NAT as well.)

Would also like to note a question I did not see on 9tut. Fairly basic, but worth note. Not verbatim or course, but: How is a private address handled if it is placed on an ISP WAN interface. A: (although strictly not true) Private addresses can not be routed on the public internet backbone (or something to that effect).

  14. Questions Today
    June 24th, 2015

Q1 was in exam. Praise The Lord and thnx 9tut passed on 24th june 986/1000.
Some new questions to be observed:
What will happen if a private IP address is assigned to a public interface connected to an ISP?
    A. Addresses in a private range will be not be routed on the Internet backbone.
    B. Only the ISP router will have the capability to access the public network.
    C. The NAT process will be used to translate this address to a valid IP address.
    D. A conflict of IP addresses happens, because other public routers can use the same range.
    Answer: A
What are three values that must be the same within a sequence of packets for Netflow to consider
them a network flow? (Choose three.)
    A. source IP address
    B. source MAC address
    C. egress interface
    D. ingress interface
    E. destination IP address
    F. IP next-hop
    Answer: A,D,E

    @vinod
Questions are the same as here however, the answers are not in the same order as here.
IP’s, Hostnames, may be different on the same but all topics are fully covered here on 9tut.

    Good luck!

I recently passed my 200-120 exam with the use of Grades4sure dumps. I got all same questions in my exam that I prepared from Grades4sure test engine software. I recommend http://www.grades4sure.com/200-120-exam-questions.html to you if you want to clear your CCNA exam in first attempt.

    November 17th, 2016

hello guys, i don’t see to understand why switch1 is the root bridge. Yes it has the lowest MAC Address but priority of both switch3 ans 4 are lower than that of switch1. I was expecting switch3 to be the root bridge. Can someone please explain???

  35. Khair
    March 30th, 2017

@Bimi, in STP the root bridge is elected based on bridge-id and the bridge-id is the combination of MAC+Priority. Whichever switch has the lowest MAC address will be selected as root bridge, and priority is checked after that as a tie breaker. Here the MAC address of switch 1 ending (7320) is the smallest as compared to the rest and switch 3 ending with 733a (a in hexadecimal is equal to 10 which is greater than 0). hope it is clear now
