CCNA – VLAN Questions

Note: If you are not sure about Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), please read our Virtual Local Area Network VLAN Tutorial.

Question 1

Question 2

Even VLAN 3 is not yet configured on the switch, we can set the switchport access vlan 3 command without no problem and it also displays when we type the “show running-config” command.

Question 3

Question 4

Question 5

A “native VLAN mismatch” error will appear by CDP if there is a native VLAN mismatch on an 802.1Q link. “VLAN mismatch” can cause traffic from one vlan to leak into another vlan.

Question 6

When using VLAN the number and size of collision domains remain the same -> A is not correct.

VLANs allow to group users by function, not by location or geography -> B is correct.

VLANs help minimize the incorrect configuration of VLANs so it enhances the security of the network -> C is correct.

VLAN increases the size of broadcast domains but does not decrease the number of collision domains -> D is not correct.

VLANs increase the number of broadcast domains while decreasing the size of the broadcast domains which increase the utilization of the links. It is also a big advantage of VLAN -> E is correct.

VLANs are useful but they are more complex and need more administration -> F is not correct.

Question 7

For 802.1q encapsulation, the native VLAN must matched at both side; otherwise the link will not work. In this case the native VLAN of S1 is 1 while the native VLAN of S2 is 2.

Question 8

Answer A is not correct because when a packet is received from an 802.1Q trunk, it always carries VLAN ID information in the VLAN tag portion so the switch does not need to look up its source MAC address table to determine the VLAN ID of that packet.

Question 9

Question 10

VLAN 1 is the default VLAN on Cisco switch. It always exists and can not be added, modified or removed.

VLANs 1002-1005 are default VLANs for FDDI & Token Ring and they can’t be deleted or used for Ethernet.

@all: We had to move all the questions and answers out of 9tut. We can only keep the explanation. You can download the questions and answers at: https://mega.co.nz/#!wt9kVCjL!vvp79FTtjsqfpCgq0uTOTKlE6_qsLY6C_m163sNGs_s

I think TestKing had to do the samething last week, is there an audit going on or something? Does this mean the vendor will change the question and answer? My test is on the 22nd.

I do not understand the Q5 solution. Why is the good answer C and not B?
B statement will be right always, but C will be right only then if the cdp is running on both connected interface. (As the explanation is telling, the “native vlan mismatch” is generated by the cdp process.)

In Q5 it is not specified if CDP is enabled, couldn’t ” B. VLAN 10 on CAT1 and VLAN 1 on CAT2 will send untagged frames” be correct?

    @ Anon, Q3-

The ability to reconfigure ports logically without the need to unplug wires and move them around is a good advantage. If a user takes his or her computer to a new work area, no cables need to be swapped on the switch, just access the switch and issue commands to change the VLAN assignments for the old and new ports. VLANs thus simplify the process of adding, moving, and deleting users on the network.

Hi Deepak,You need DHCP addresses in the data (default) VLAN with opiotn 191 defined. You need DHCP addresses with opiotn 128 defined in the voice VLAN.The IP phone will issue a DHCP request in the default VLAN. If it receives a response with opiotn 191 it will issue a DHCP release and issue a DHCP request in the voice VLAN (VLAN tag equal to the value returned in opiotn 191). The switch port needs to be configured as untag default VLAN (allowing trunking but only tagging the non PVID ports).Good Luck!

I recently passed my 200-120 exam with the use of Grades4sure dumps. I got all same questions in my exam that I prepared from Grades4sure test engine software. I recommend http://www.grades4sure.com/200-120-exam-questions.html to you if you want to clear your CCNA exam in first attempt.

Passed the CCNA Finally! I had to take the CCNA twice, as I failed on my first attempt. However for my second, I used the e8ay dump to study the update that happened for the CCNA and passed the exam finally :D All Questions came from the dump. The e8ay dump has a total of 172 questions (58 + 114 updated questions) and the 4 variations of the ACL sims. I didn’t check out the study materials here but they seem helpful stated from other comments.

    Information to the exam:

    54 MC Questions
    1 ACL simulation
    1 EIGRP TSHOOT Simlet
    1 OSPF TShoot Simlet
    1 RIPv2 Simlet
    Total of 58 questions.

If you would like to check out the materials I used, here you go:

“””VLAN NETWORK DESIGN30″” by P. Sachin is helpful to get a bigger overview of the importance of VLAN.
CCNA VLAN concepts are explained at here: http://www.computernetworkingnotes.com/cisco/ccna-study-guide/
And you can attend dump questions at http://www.exam-labs.com/
